Old Town is Alexandria’s beloved downtown and nationally designated historic district on the Potomac River waterfront.

Voted one of Travel + Leisure’s Best Cities in the U.S 2023, it is a welcoming weekend escape minutes from Washington, D.C.

Runners, pick up your packet on Friday or Saturday and make it a weekend in Alexandria leading up to the race on Sunday. Explore where to eat and stay at the links below.

Running the 5k? Enjoy views of historic architecture and the river as you start and finish your race in Old Town Alexandria.

Running the 10 miler? A free shuttle takes you to the starting line at George Washington's Mount Vernon, the most visited residence in the U.S. You'll then traverse the GW Parkway with endless views of the Potomac and finish your race back in Old Town Alexandria.
