Getting to the Race

Start Line

The 5K start line is at Oronoco Bay Park, the 10 mile start line is at Mount Vernon.  

There is no parking at the start for the 10 mile race, runners should plan to take the provided DASH Buses and be shuttled to the start at Mount Vernon or manage a Dropoff. 

Transportation

Metro - Metro will NOT open early for this event. The nearest metro station for after the race is King Street Station (Blue & Yellow lines).

Parking - Parking for 5k and 10 Mile is available at 99 Canal Plaza.  There is limited Street Parking. 

Biking - Ride to Oronoco Bay Park - 100 Madison Avenue, There will be racks to park your bike near the finish festival at Oronoco Bay Park.  Other area bike parking-locking opportunities can be reviewed here: https://www.bikearlington.com/the-ultimate-crowdsourced-bike-parking-map/ 

10 Mile Start Shuttle Buses 

For 2024, there will be two bus pickup locations for DASH bus shuttle to the start. 

** Old Town Alexandria, 700 North Fairfax Street, extending north toward the parking garage at Canal Plaza, 44 Canal Center Plaza, Alexandria, VA 22314. 

First bus departs at 5:30AM. Last bus departs at 7:00AM. 

We strongly suggest boarding the bus by 6:30AM to avoid a lengthy wait in line. 

** Washington, DC,  1200 block of G St. NW (Macy’s Metro Center).

First bus departs at 5:30AM. Last bus departs at 6:30AM. 

We strongly suggest boarding the bus by 6:00AM to avoid a lengthy wait in line.

10 Mile Start Dropoff

The Start dropoff point for the 10 mile start is south of the Post Office–3500T Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy, Mt Vernon, VA 22121, just west of Mt. Vernon Circle. There is a bus turnaround approximately 800m south of the Post Office that will serve as a drop off point.  Due to closure of the actual Parkway, dropoff travel will need to use Mount Vernon Hwy.  There will be no access via vehicle to the Post Office OR the circle in front of Mount Vernon Estates. 

THERE IS NO PARKING AT MOUNT VERNON and any personal vehicles parked at Mount Vernon will be towed
